Overview
The law firm of Blanchard, Miller, Lewis & Styers, P.A. is a dynamic
and growing firm located in Raleigh, North Carolina. BMLS has an extensive
litigation and administrative law practice representing clients in areas as
diverse as commercial and business disputes, serious personal injury, utilities
regulation, wrongful death, zoning and land use hearings, medical and professional
negligence, defamation, nursing home abuse and neglect and criminal defense.
The lawyers at BMLS have represented clients in the state and federal courts
at all levels and before state and local regulatory agencies, boards and
commissions. BMLS's attorneys are experienced not only in litigation and
administrative matters, but are well-regarded appellate lawyers, handling
appeals in both the state and federal courts. BMLS is not a big firm -- and
that is by choice. We limit our practice to specific areas in which our attorneys
have developed expertise. We pride ourselves on our commitment to dealing directly
with our clients. At BMLS our emphasis is on results and service. The firm
is founded on the conviction that our clients deserve excellent representation
that is provided in a cost effective manner by highly motivated and experienced
attorneys whose main goal is to see that our clients get the help they need
and the results they want.
Firm History
After spending over four decades as one of North Carolina's most respected trial
lawyers, Charles Blanchard joined with Philip Miller to form
Blanchard, Jenkins & Miller, P.A. in 1995. From the beginning, they devoted a
majority of the firm's practice to the representation of individuals in personal
injury, medical negligence, products liability and wrongful death cases. In 1999,
Hardy Lewis left a partnership in a prestigious Raleigh firm to create Blanchard,
Jenkins, Miller & Lewis. In addition to continuing the firm's personal injury
practice, Mr. Lewis brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the
areas of business litigation, appellate law, criminal defense, alcoholic beverage
control law and administrative law. In 2004 Gray Styers, a partner in the Raleigh
office of a large international firm, joined the practice to form Blanchard,
Jenkins, Miller, Lewis & Styers. Mr. Styers brought with him one of the most
active administrative law and regulatory practices in the state. With the addition
of Mr. Styers, the firm expanded its practice areas to include energy and
telecommunications matters, land use planning and zoning, campaign finance law
and legislative representation. In
addition to their specific concentrations, all of the firm's attorneys are
skilled trial attorneys who are experienced "on their feet" in state and federal
trial and appellate courts as well as before regulatory agencies.
